Delivering to a variety of customers in both the private and public sector from small independent cafe owners, local health trusts and schools to national hotel and restaurant chains.

As the exclusive recruitment partner for Bunzl Catering, Cast UK are leading the search for a Transport Supervisor based at their prestigious Manchester depot. The incumbent to this role will take responsibility for the execution, direction, and coordination of all transportation matters within the branch, whilst managing the drivers and taking charge of every transportation item. The role requires a person who strives to be a perfectionist and who can work in a specialist or technical area of expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the Management of fleet maintenance of circa 24 vehicles in line with leasing providers recommendations and operator licence obligations and local providers.
  • Direct the activities of staff in relation to transport operations including dispatching, tracking and debrief.
  • Ensure that staff comply with policies and procedures, safety rules, and government regulations
  • Coach, train, manage the performance of drivers
  • Contribute to the planning, development and organisation of the transport department.
  • Organising vehicle replacements where necessary
  • Liaising with Local agency providers when needed
  • Ensure all vehicles and drivers conform to relevant health and safety and Road Traffic legislation
  • Ensure route planning and vehicle loading is appropriate and suggest improvements where possible to the Transport Planning team.
  • Ensure OTIF (On time in full) is met and that all deliveries are executed as per the customer requirements
  • Direct the effectiveness of private, third party and contract carriage systems
  • Contribute to the development and communication of transport policies and procedures
  • Develop key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the transport operations

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a logistics environment.
  • Experience with a multidrop fleet of primarily Vans and 7.5t vehicles advantageous.
  • Digital Tachograph knowledge
  • Competent in Microsoft Office products, XL and Stock software programs
  • Previous experience of Microlise, Sage, Ortec and Vision advantageous
  • Ability to influence others
  • Management CPC is desirable, however this can be provided at a later date if needed.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for candidates who have shown regular career development and who still seek the opportunity to further develop their careers. Previous experience in leading a site is essential as is previous experience of creating and managing budgets. It is important that candidates applying for this role have a good understanding of both warehousing and distribution and have overseen a transport function either directly or through a transport management team. Finally, a proven track record of coaching and developing a team is required to ensure the site continues to develop all colleagues.

As the exclusive recruitment partner for Bunzl Catering, Cast UK are leading the search for a Warehouse Supervisor covering the Nightshift. The incumbent to this role will lead a team of warehouse operatives to ensure that all warehouse functions are completed efficiently and accurately within the agreed time scales. The role will be focused on ensuring every item of stock gets to its destination on time, and there are no shortages and resolving issues efficiently, accurately and quickly, making sure the correct resource is in place to ensure the operation functions properly with minimal impact on the budget and SLA's.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coach, train, manage the performance of warehouse operatives
  • Continuously assess colleagues against identified performance criteria and address issues of performance and conduct within the branch
  • Check for damaged or missing items and resolve
  • Pick goods accurately and build pallets safely
  • Place goods correctly into storage bays.
  • Ensure that stock is stored to allow safe storage, lifting and lowering. Moving stock around by hand, using lifting gear or a forklift truck
  • Assist in loading vehicles, working with the drivers to ensure compliance with all legal requirements on vehicle loading and to ensure pallets are stacked safely.
  • Keep records of stock and paperwork up to date, cross function communication
  • Ensure the warehouse/yard is always kept clean and tidy, spillages promptly cleared, waste minimised
  • Achieve targets and job standards set out by the Senior Management Team
  • Discharge duties in a safe manner in accordance with relevant legislation and Bunzl EHS policies.
  • Report hazards immediately and use all equipment provided in accordance with safe working practices
  • Ensure all warehouse operatives complete their work on time, accurately and efficiently; investigate issues as and when required

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience of working in a warehouse environment at a Team Leader or Supervisory level
  • Competent in Microsoft Office products, XL and Stock software programmes
  • Proven ability to manage small teams
  • A willingness to flex working hours as and when required

Cast UK are delighted to be recruiting a Senior Security Engineer for Bunzl UK & Ireland which is part of Bunzl PLC, a multinational distribution and outsourcing company headquartered in London and active in 30 countries. In total there are 5 Divisions and 25 operating companies.

The Senior Security Engineer is responsible for scoping, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining IT security systems, standards and strategy across the region. Supporting the IT team and the business, by being a trusted advisor in all aspects of IT security. Liaising with various distributed Bunzl Operating Company (OpCo) IT teams as necessary. Responsible for delivery of pragmatic, high quality, secure, cost-effective security solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scoping, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of all IT Security Systems
  • Supporting the wider IT team and the business by being a trusted advisor for IT security matters
  • Liaison with IT Security Manager, IT Director to ensure security standards are complied with
  • Third-party vendor, hardware and software relationships
  • Maintaining Cyber Essentials certification
  • Maintaining Security systems including, but not limited to, Firewalls, Email Security, Web proxies, EDR, VPN
  • Leading on security projects and new implementations
  • Working with Security Operations and IT Infrastructure teams to resolve issues
  • Assisting the development of the IT Security and Disaster Recovery and Backup Strategy
  • Information security policies and procedures generation and maintenance
  • Security policy creation/review
  • Implementation and maintenance of IT security related certifications e.g. CyberEssentials, etc.
  • Regular vulnerability scanning and remedial actions
  • Phishing campaigns and remedial actions
  • Ensuring IT Security systems are developed and maintained to the highest possible level
  • Delivering tasks and programmes, on time, on cost, to high quality standards
  • Meeting SLA performance
  • Create and maintain appropriate documentation and standards
  • Follow Global and regional policies and procedures and assist in the implementation of new processes and complying with existing ones
  • Sharing of knowledge with IT team members and other stakeholders
  • Ensuring quality standards are adhered to by self and fellow members of the team

Skills & Experience Required

  • Experience with of a range of security products/tools such as Firewalls, Email security, web security (Proxies), AV/EDR and Backup. Fortinet and Veeam knowledge desirable
  • Excellent IT security knowledge (5+ years)
  • Certified to CISSP, CISM or equivalent level
  • Maintaining security solutions with excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Managing the implementation of security solutions
